This picture started me on my journey as a Professional Wedding Photographer. I had just purchased my Nikon D80 in July 2009. I also upgraded from a E-Series 50mm f/1.8 with manual focus to a Nikkor 50 f/1.8 with auto focus. This image was the first image I took at the reception for my first paid job as the featured photographer. The image was shot wide open at f1.8, ISO 800 at 1/50 a second. The bokeh on this image convinced me that if I was going to be taken seriously as a Wedding photographer I had to invest in fast lens. Recently I sold this lens to upgrade to the f/1.4 version, but I still have many images with that fast 50 that I can look back on with great fondness.
